"Future Source" project - we show what's behind it

Where does our water come from?

Water is our element! But who actually knows exactly where the cool water that flows so naturally from the tap comes from? And do we even think about what a litre costs us when we shower, flush and wash? It seems to us to be a commodity that is always available. But before the water reaches our households, it first has to be extracted, treated and distributed at great expense - sometimes over very long distances, such as from Lake Constance to the Odenwald. Our new customer, the Lake Constance Water Supply Association, is a long-distance water supplier that ensures that many millions of people have access to clean drinking water at all times.

The challenges of climate change

The effects of climate change do not spare water supply companies either. At Lake Constance, for example, they are evident in changes to water quality or the colonisation of the area by plants and animals from far-flung regions. Added to this is the population’s ever-increasing demand for water. Clean (drinking) water is becoming an increasingly scarce resource in our world. In times of climate change, it is therefore all the more important to raise awareness of the need to use this precious resource sustainably. Clean drinking water cannot be taken for granted – without a functioning water supply infrastructure, we would soon be left high and dry. We want to raise awareness of this.

“Source of the Future. Water for Generations”

We are therefore delighted that, in our Public Communications division, we have recently added the topic of water to our portfolio, alongside the sectors of energy, construction, property and mobility. We are supporting Bodensee-Wasserversorgung, whose primary task is to provide four million people in Baden-Württemberg with drinking water of the highest quality. To ensure a secure supply of drinking water for decades to come, Bodensee-Wasserversorgung is planning the project “Source of the Future. Water for Generations”. A series of construction measures are to be carried out, such as the expansion and upgrading of the water extraction and treatment facilities on Lake Constance. We are delighted that our Public Communications team is providing communications support for this diverse and exciting project in collaboration with our partner agency, Carta.
