Living social responsibility as a first aider

Kaltwasser Kommunikation attaches great importance to sustainable action. Under the motto "Communication that moves", Kaltwasser plays a positive role in shaping the changes that society is undergoing. Appreciation and mindfulness are core values that are practised in a variety of ways in day-to-day work - both within the agency and in client projects.

But social responsibility isn’t just taken seriously in our day-to-day work. The KK team regularly sets aside time and space to gain new experiences and raise awareness of social responsibility. That’s why our colleagues have all completed first-aid training with the Johanniter in Nuremberg.

Taking responsibility

One of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”. This is one of the four SDGs to which Kaltwasser Kommunikation GmbH actively contributes through a wide range of measures, as this is where it can make the greatest difference. To ensure that the goal of “maintaining and actively promoting the physical and mental well-being of our colleagues, partners and customers” does not remain a mere slogan, the communications agency incorporates a wide range of initiatives into colleagues’ daily working lives that contribute to achieving this goal. Regular lunchtime exercise, group plogging and a corporate membership for the Bayern 07 swimming and sports club are just a few examples.

But what if prevention and health promotion alone are not enough? In the event of an accident, an injury or a cardiac arrest, the priority is to act quickly to restore the physical health of those affected.

First aid training

To ensure that everyone knows exactly what to do in an emergency, the Kaltwasser team has undergone first-aid training. Although some had attended such a course before, for most it had been several years ago. To refresh or acquire this basic knowledge, a dedicated instructor from the Johanniter spent a whole day demonstrating everything essential for providing first aid to the injured – from applying a bandage to resuscitation and the correct use of a defibrillator. The most important thing in first aid, the course leader emphasised time and again, is to set aside inhibitions and fears and, first and foremost, to summon the courage to help. However, to truly feel confident in providing first aid, regular refresher courses on both theoretical and practical knowledge are essential. The Kaltwasser Kommunikation team will therefore be visiting the Johanniter’s premises in Nuremberg more frequently in future!

"For us, sustainability is reflected in our daily actions. In addition to communication that moves people, this also includes taking responsibility for each other - for example through our first aid course, which strengthens mindfulness and team cohesion."</p
