Grid expansion in transition – and a pilot project at the heart of it

E.DIS Netz GmbH is modernising its 110 kV grid to meet the rising energy demand in Brandenburg and the Berlin area. A refurbishment project is planned between Großbeeren and Thyrow, which will serve as a pilot for future line construction projects.

The aim: to plan transparently, engage in dialogue at an early stage and incorporate feedback from local authorities, the administration and the public in good time – before the planning approval process begins.

Communication that builds rapport

We have been supporting E.DIS since 2023 in establishing reliable and dialogue-oriented project communication. This includes information sessions in all affected locations, direct consultation with local stakeholders, and clear information materials. At the same time, we monitor local debates, media coverage and public sentiment – so that E.DIS can assess at any time what is driving the conversation and where support is needed. Internally, we run workshops to clarify interfaces, roles and communication standards.

More clarity, more momentum, more trust

The Großbeeren–Thyrow project lays the foundation for future public engagement in E.DIS’s grid expansion. Open information, direct dialogue and continuous exchange help to build trust and shape the planning process together with the people in the region.

"Entering into dialogue with local people at an early stage, keeping them regularly up to date - and engaging in a concrete exchange whenever it is important - this is how even long planning periods can be accompanied in a binding and trusting communicative manner"
