How we translated the market entry of the Norwegian technology company Vind AI into a compelling communications narrative, strategically positioned it and anchored it in relevant industry media.
Initial situation & challenge
Vind AI is a Norwegian EnergyTech company that is rethinking the planning of wind farms with an integrated digital platform. It helps project developers and energy companies to drive wind farm projects forward more quickly, collaboratively and in a data-driven manner – from site analysis and planning permission issues right through to repowering and hybrid wind farm projects.
To enter the German market, two challenges had to be overcome: Vind AI was still largely unknown in this country. At the same time, the benefits of the platform needed to be made tangible to an industry characterised by complex projects, lengthy approval processes, data silos and numerous interfaces.
Our task
To position Vind AI as a relevant solution for greater speed, better collaboration and more informed decision-making in wind farm planning — and to build trust within the right specialist audiences.
Our approach
We moved away from abstract software communication and towards a clear value proposition for project developers, energy companies, specialist media and industry stakeholders. Vind AI was not presented as an abstract software solution, but as an enabler of faster decisions, better data foundations, less friction within project teams and greater momentum for the energy transition.
The central question was: What problem does Vind AI solve for the German market?
Kaltwasser Kommunikation developed the communications foundation for Vind AI’s market entry in Germany: from strategic positioning and PR narratives to successful media pitches.
We focused on topics that matter to the market and align with the platform, including repowering and grid connection. Rather than pursuing broad exposure, we targeted selected trade media, developed expert content and built relationships with relevant industry stakeholders. This approach also secured Vind AI a feature in a report by the German Wind Energy Association (BWE), an organisation the company had been trying to connect with for several months.
Results & impact
Within five months, Vind AI established visible presence in the German market. A previously little-known EnergyTech company in Germany became a recognisable innovation voice for data-based, collaborative wind farm planning.
We secured 12 placements in leading wind energy, power and renewable energy trade publications. The coverage achieved a combined print circulation of around 150,000, while the featured online publications generated approximately 1.2 million page impressions per month.
Beyond reach, the campaign created strategic traction: Vind AI was positioned as a relevant voice in data-driven wind farm planning and established a visible presence across key trade media and industry networks. This provided a strong foundation for trust, market presence and further growth in Germany.
