After "Ice Bucket Challenge" and "Coldwater Challenge", the "cold water barbecue" fever has now spread throughout Bavaria, like here at Radio Gong: Clubs and institutions barbecue in or by the cold water for a good cause. It makes sense that we were also fully involved as "Kaltwasser Kommunikation".
On a frosty Wednesday afternoon in February, we invited our friends from the Kreisjugendring to a fun-filled event with delicious fried sausages, cool drinks and small cheese snacks for the vegetarians. UAnd since the Kreisjugendring has its headquarters in the city wall on the Insel Schütt, we set up our grill right there on the icy waters of the Pegnitz.
Chief barbecue expert Andreas Schauerte roasts according to the rules in the paddling pool at the required (ice-)cold water temperatures. After almost two hours the fun was over: 200 fried sausages, 100 "Weckla" (Franconian for rolls) and also the cheese had been eaten. Beer and water quenched the thirst. And what joy in emptying the donation box: A total of 440 euros was collected.
The earnings stayed right there: As a donation to our hosts of the Kreisjugendring, who have been doing valuable work for and with young people all over Nuremberg for many years and are happy about every support. KJR, you're awesome!
Our warmest thanks also go to the other sponsors of the campaign, who supported us so spontaneously and easily: Metzgerei Pfettner with the best sausages in Nuremberg, Bäckerei Feihl with delicious rolls and Bayernland with a whole package of delicious cheese specialties.
We would especially like to thank our guests, who made our happy cold water barbecue event a success with a good appetite, a good mood and generous donations.
